I am responsible for keeping financial records of the congregation and carrying out financial policies of the Board. With the assistance of the bookkeeper, I maintain records and report current status of the congregation.
For almost 40 years, I was a mathematics educator working with pre-service and in service teachers to improve teaching and learning of mathematics primarily at the elementary level. I called myself a mathematics missionary carrying the wonders and excitement of mathematics wherever I went. I am interested in investments and personal finance, art and theatre, and travel.
What is it about Unitarian Universalism that really makes a difference in your life?
I have identified myself as UU since college due to reading of the transcendentalists which represented a search for improvement of the human condition allied with a political and social calling. UUFH is the first time I have been actively involved with a congregation although I have attended UU in Greenville, Columbia, Columbus, and Dallas. The message by Karin Armstrong and Karen Anderson on compassion at General Assembly were transformational in my religious life.
