“The Dream Of Lincoln”

In recognition of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, and the upcoming 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, we will present a 30-minute video segment from the Teaching Company course “Mr. Lincoln: The Life of Abraham Lincoln.” The lecturer, Prof. Allen Guelzo of Gettysburg College, is a renowned Lincoln scholar and prizewinning author of two books on this subject. In this lecture, Dr. Guelzo summarizes some of Lincoln’s thinking on slavery, emancipation, and reconstruction, as well as his vision of America’s role in the world.
       A moderated discussion period follows the film. No sign-ups are required, and the public is invited.
