How does your position express or serve the mission of UUFH?
In my term on the Board I hope to engage in practice and service for the entire congregation so that all the objectives of the Mission Statement may be more fully met
A Few Words about Your Background and Interests (optional):
I relocated to Hendersonville 2 years ago from Cape Cod and am still relatively new to the community and congregation. I am a retired Registered Nurse, having worked over 40 years in a wide variety of fields. I currently volunteer with Four Seasons Hospice as a patient visitor and recently joined the Pastoral Associates at UUFH. I also lead the Caregiver’s Support group which meets monthly. I have many other pastimes and interests, a few of which are: square dancing, quilting, beadwork, reading, physical fitness, and walking/hiking with my dog Skipper.
What is it about Unitarian Universalism that really makes a difference in your life?
I have attended UU churches since the age of 24 in a variety of locations. I like the inclusiveness and celebration of many lifestyles and philosophies, the strong belief in social justice, service and living our beliefs, and being exposed to many points of view but never dogma about what I should believe. When I relocated to this area I wanted to find like minded people who were progressive and activities and events that were thought provoking.
